Schefflera on lava rock

A new and above all special concept! A Schefflera plant on lava rock is something you probably haven't seen before. This lava rock was once spewed on land by a volcano and therefore special in itself. In combination with some moisture, this stone seems to be a great habitat for a plant. This plant is very suitable as a gift, because the chance is very small that your colleague already has this unique plant at home. And also nice: it is easy to care for!

The Schefflera is a graceful, strong houseplant with a trunk and characteristic, palmate leaves. In the Netherlands we therefore also call the Schefflera finger plant, finger tree or finger tree. In England, the leaves are compared to umbrellas, so that the houseplant is called 'umbrella tree' here. Originally, the finger plant comes from Australia and New Zealand.

It is an easy houseplant to care for. The finger tree can withstand low light, hardly needs any nutrition and can withstand less water.

The black container containing the stone must be filled immediately upon arrival with lukewarm water to about 2/3 of the container. That's really the only thing to keep an eye on. The water will rise less quickly in winter than in summer. Furthermore, the location is important, that it is in a light place but not in direct sunlight. Some morning sun rays are not bad, but the hot afternoon sun should be avoided.
