The delightful organic Fairtrade cacao comes from the Awajún tribe along the Cenepa and Rio Santiago rivers in the Amazon rainforest. This tribe is part of the NorAndino cooperative, which has 5000 members, including 1800 cacao farmers. Chocolatemakers supports NorAndino with a project where part of the harvest is processed in their own cacao factory in Peru, with the goal of being able to make chocolate entirely on their own in the future.
